2nd Annual Friends Bed-n-Brew Bike Ride

On Saturday, Marci and I, along with several friends, went on a vehicle-assisted bike ride from Austin to Fredericksburg. This is just a private ride, not an organized event. The entire route is 70 miles long but the vehicle would stop every 10 miles for the first 50 miles and then every 5 miles after that. This not only allows for periodic breaks with food and cold drinks, but it also allows for individual riders to take a break from biking and ride in the vehicle for one or more legs.

In last year’s ride, which I was surprised to find that I didn’t post about, I stopped after 55 miles and rode in the vehicle the rest of the way. This year, I biked the entire route. Marci is still recovering from her knee surgery, so she only biked 15 miles. The entire ride took about 7 hours, of which nearly 2 was spent resting or waiting. We had a great time on the ride and enjoyed our time in Fredericksburg as well. It was also nice riding back to Austin all together in the vehicle.

I’ll post a comment when I have the GPS data uploaded.
